Lane's List Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Chapter Three of the serialized novel "Borders of Our Lives". This third chapter continues the story of Jeff Goff, about his first and second lives and is based on characters and the setting of Second Life. "And We Are All Together", the third chapter explores the impact second life has had on Jeff's character and how it has effected his real life. Excerpt from the posting in Lane's List:
It was shortly before the New Year holiday, one morning, while chatting in game with a friend that had sparked the idea for this edition. We’d been comparing notes on a singer we’d each heard perform. She had been enthralled by his voice and I had commented that while he did have a good range his work with the guitar needed practice. She laughed at my comment and then asked: “What do you think will happen in the musical scene and, really, in the overall…

Excerpt from a posting in Lane's List:
“Jazz Club”, when I hear or see the words, I envision a darkened smoke filled room, elegantly dressed patrons sitting at tables in pairs or twirling on a dance floor, listening, enraptured, as a seductively dressed, lissome singer is highlighted in a solitary spotlight. Her dark hair and sequined gown sparkle in the light as she sways softly to the music. A drummer, bassist and piano are heard, their individual efforts blending into a harmonious melody,…

Excerpt from a posting in Lane's List:
This will be my first Christmas in SL and, with decorations given to me by a friend, my home at Cherry Tree has taken on a holiday look. A four meter high tree with a silver star atop it, greets visitors in the foyer and a cheery red brick fireplace with stockings hung, awaiting a visit from Santa, graces the living room. Having been just below the prim limit, I had to move a few items back into inventory in order to set out the decorations, much as one wo…

In Search of the Truth and Free T-Shirts :-D
Feeling a little restless this morning, my avatar is pacing in his home office, wracking his virtual brain. I’m certain that several of my ex-GFs can attest to the virtualessness nature of my brain. I’m looking for story ideas, my editors at the paper having been pleased with my contributions to date. I am about to sit him down at his desk, when an IM arrives, “pssssssssssssst…Nazz, I need to talk to you.” It is…

Excerpt from a posting in Lane's List:
I look down at the screen of my laptop, a blank word document is waiting for me, it’s time to write another Lane’s List, but before my fingers touch the keyboard, I lean back in my chair, lift a steaming cup of coffee and take a sip. I stare at the blank document and sip my coffee, thinking of how best to introduce this edition of Lane’s List. An idea pops into mind and I lean forward my fingers poised to strike the keys. I promptly spell out “Lane’s List…

Excerpt from a posting in Lane's List:
They are one of the most ordinary of elements in second life, whenever we teleport into an outdoor spot we are most likely to encounter them. As the site begins to rezz, we see sets of palms, leafy oaks, flowering apple or cherry tree’s as they come into our view. As we approach a residence, or place of business, flowering or leafy shrubs appear along with roses, Black-eyed Susan’s, Marigolds or Chamomile, some of which even appear to be swaying in an imag…

I'm trying to see what the perfect blend of social networking sites are for a group. Ning has the blogging but Facebook has a great events feature. And Second Life Groups are so limited so I just don't think they work well on their own.
So here's a Facebook version of this group. If you're on Facebook, feel free to join. Easier to make announcements there as well.

What do YOU think about the best site/sites to organize a group?

I've started a wiki for Second Life media. I'm trying to stay very focused on any media outlet that covers Second Life on a regular basis.
I'm not including personal blogs right now unless they are the personal blogs of active SL reporters or have a very specific slant such as Arts & Entertainment or Fashion versus "here's what I did today."
Please join up and add the resources you produce or know about to help make this a truly valuable resource. And please let me know what you think!…
